The app was designed to use Mac’s built-in trackpad but can be used with a connected third-party trackpad too. Its user interface is a little bit complicated, but its features are well organized and relatively easy to find. If you want a more direct port of classic MS Paint with the old look and feel, you can also try JSPaint. It also runs in Chrome, Opera, and Safari, and it has the vast majority of core MS Paint features, but with a more modern look.
However, it has grown into one of the most powerful drawing tools on the market. It is not exclusively built for MacOS, but PaintZ is an app I built to be an MS Paint replacement for other platforms.
In the most recent update, Gabriel added an undo/redo button, included three new background styles, and added a new “documents options” to the menu. Paint.Net was initially designed as a free replacement for Paint.
